Armed men have launched Sunday an attack against a prison in Bahrain and the detainees accused in cases of “terrorists” were able to escape when a policeman was killed, announced the ministry of bahrain from the Inside. The security forces have launched a sweep operation to search for and arrest “the terrorist elements involved” in the attack and recapture the escaped prisoners, said the ministry on his account Twitter.
The attack, according to the department, targeted the central prison, Jau (South), where many citizens bahrainis of shi’a muslims accused of being involved in violence are held. Bahrain, a small Gulf countries, led by the dynasty of sunni Al-Khalifa, was rocked since February 2011 by a protest movement led by the shiite majority calling for a true constitutional monarchy and a better consideration of their interests. Several organizations defending human rights have expressed concern about recent actions against opposition figures in shiite.
