New York : a car knocks over pedestrian in Times Square, at least one death

A car has knocked over a pedestrian Thursday in the late morning on Times Square in New York city, one of the places most frequented in the world, leading to one death and twelve injured, in what seemed to be an accident according to the fire department. “The FDNY confirms 1 dead and 19 injured in the car accident in Times Square,” said on Twitter the fire department of New York (Fire Department of New York). A photographer for theAgence France-Presse, which was very near the place of the accident, saw the vehicle tumbling down at full speed on the place where there were many tourists, under a radiant sun. “There were people on the ground,” and “people who were crying,” he said. He said he saw a woman whose face was covered with a white cloth, without being able to confirm if it was the deceased referred to by the fire department.
