The tablet market begins to pile up, and Acer has understood with the unveiling of two laptops “transformable,” which offer different positions to suit a number of uses. Specifically, the series Aspire R13 and R14 are two new ranges of notebook that can play both the role of a computer and a tablet, nothing very innovative, however, many manufacturers offers models with virtually the same systems including Asus and its Transform, or Lenovo with the Yoga 11 “and Yoga 13″.
The Acer Aspire R13 will be the role of the high-end with a screen of 13.3-inch Full HD IPS or IGZO WQHD (2560 x 1440) option. In order to make the PC more durable, the touch screen and the outside of the hood are both integrated in a slab of Gorilla Glass 3. In addition, a specific treatment should reduce the traces of fingers. The screen will also work with a stylus Acer active pen” option, alas…
Acer Aspire R14, the heavy weight
Level performance, the R13 features processor Intel Core i5 or Core i7, SSD of 256 – 512 up to 1 Tb and up to 8 Gb of Ram. It displays a weight (heavy) of 2.5 kg. The R13 will be available in late 2014 from 999€.
The Acer Aspire R14 is positioned more in the middle of the range, with a screen 14-inch HD (1366 x 768), but some versions have a convincing power : – processor Intel Core i3, i5, i7, up to 12 Gb of RAM and a graphics card Nvidia GeForce 820M will be available. There’s no SSD, but a choice of two hard drives of 500 Gb or 1 Tb. The R14 will be available from late October from 499€
