Thomson launches television series C76, tvs, Android TV Ultra HD at competitive rates.
Thomson is a new momentum building in France : the French brand, owned by Technicolor and is used under licence by numerous manufacturers, mainly chinese, for all kinds of products, was held Thursday, an event during which it showcased its flagship products. Among them, one product has caught our attention : a television, Android TV.
The chinese manufacturer TCL Corporation has actually revealed the series Thomson C76, with which it offers tvs Ultra HD HDR based on Android TV at very competitive rates.
The Series C76 Thomson is available in three diagonals, and here are the rates :
- 49-inch for 750 euros
- 55 inch for 900 euros
- 65-inch to 1 600 euros
Ultra HD, HDR and Android TV for less than 1000 euros
For this price, this is not of course of the OLED, but LCD panels with backlight LED of a second choice, that provide at first sight an acceptable image, with, however, a lack of uniformity (clouding). They are, however, of last generation, since they are 10-bit and HDR (compatible HDR-10 HDR and HLG) and associated with three HDMI inputs, 2.0 a (including one MHL).
Importantly, these tvs run Android TV 6.0, a streamlined version, without customization by the manufacturer, which has proved to be very smooth during our brief getting started. They are based on a chip MediaTek MT5890, the one which gives acceptable performance at tv Android TV OLED Philips, we have tested in the last month. This chip is compatible with two of the most critical applications, Plex and Kodi, and the tv is certified to Netflix.
The series C76 features finally a minimalist design, with a sleek frame of brushed aluminium, a slab, a thin and a foot relatively simple. It is a shame that the metal remote control microphone (for voice commands) is optional, but the ir remote control (without microphone) supplied is of good quality.
These tvs Thomson Series C76 will be put up for sale these next fifteen days, especially in Baker, Darty or Fnac, but also in large areas such as Conforama.
