Hyundai has a great ambition : to become the first automaker to asian in Europe by 2021. A goal that seems within his reach when we look at the latest sales figures. Between January and may, the Korean has sold 45 325 cars on the Old Continent. It is almost at the level of Nissan, which has registered 46 222 registrations, and has, therefore, already in its line-of-sight Toyota, which has elapsed in this period 57 558 cars.
To succeed his bet, Hyundai will increase the new features. 30 launches planned over the next five years. Emphasis will be placed on the SUV, which represent nearly one-third of its sales in Europe. The brand expects much from the Kona (4,16 meters in length), unveiled this week. To stand out on a segment of adventurous urban increasingly congested, it plays the card of the original style.
Hyundai is expanding its range of 4×4 from the bottom… and will not stop in so good way. During the presentation of the Kona in Asia, Chung Eui-sun, vice-president of the brand, has announced that a smaller SUV will be launched by 2020. If the Kona has a lot of rivals, this small vehicle will be more of an open field. Very few manufacturers currently offer an SUV of less than four meters. Volkswagen had unveiled in 2012, the concept Taigun, but the project was abandoned. Hyundai seems to have a nice card to play, but is that the customer will answer this ?
Chung Eui-sun also announced the arrival of a large SUV positioned above the Santa Fe. Not sure, however, that it is proposed in us, the brand does marketing already in France, the stretched version of the Santa Fe.
