Poland-Sweden (2-2), Poland avoids elimination

Thanks to an equalisation successful a few minutes from the end, Poland has preserved a hope of qualifying for the semi’s of Euro Hopes.

2nd day of the Euro Hopes
Poland-Sweden : 2-2
Goals :
Moneta (6th), Kownacki (91st); Standberg (36th), Larsson (41st)

Within a few minutes, Poland has failed to get to know a big humiliation on Monday. Without the equalizer on penalty of Kownacki at the 91st minute, the host country of the Euro Hopes would have been the first to leave the tournament. The disaster has been averted, much to the relief especially of the fans of the Eagles, who came in a very large number for the second game against Sweden.

England starts its Euro

The Poland was, however, perfectly started this part. In the 6th minute, she opened the score through Moneta. But, and as it was already the case during the first meeting lost in the face of Slovakia (1-2), the team Marcin Dorna has totally collapsed. The Scandinavians have taken the opportunity to reverse the trend. Standberg and Larsson were equalized and gave the advantage to his followers in the space of five minutes (36th and 41st).

Without this goal poles at the end, the Sweden would have joined the England top of the group. Instead, she finds herself the third. The qualification is still available for the four teams in this pool, but the Three Lions with four points in the bag, are clearly better placed to reach the last square.
