The situation continues to worsen in Venezuela. According to the statements of an officer close to Nicolás Maduro on Sunday, “terrorists” have attacked an army base in Valencia, in the north of the country. The attack has left at least two dead. In addition, ten prisoners were captured, assured the president Maduro.

“At dawn, the attackers terrorists are entered in the Fort Paramacay to Valencia” and attacked the military, has written on his account Twitter Diosdado Cabello, vice-president of the party in power in Venezuela, adding that many of these “terrorists” have been arrested. Diosdado Cabello is a member of the all-powerful constituent Assembly, elected on 30 June and which began its work on Saturday. “Restoring the constitutional order”

A video supposedly filmed in a tank regiment of Valencia, 180 killomètres north of Caracas, circulated Sunday on social networks and in various media venezuelans. It shows a man posing as a police officer and saying that they were “in rebellion legitimate” against “the tyranny murders of Nicolás Maduro”, the president of Venezuela. “This is not a coup, it is a civic action and military to restore constitutional order,” says this man, who goes under the name of captain Juan Caguaripano and is filmed surrounded by 15 men in camouflage, some of them armed.

“An absolute normality reigns in the rest of the military units of the country,” assured Diosdado Cabello, according to which “those who dream of the contrary, will push the morale of the national armed Forces bolivarian”. The constituent Assembly in venezuela has started on Saturday its work by dismissing the prosecutor general Luisa Ortega, one of the main opponents of president Maduro. It was supposed to be Sunday, a commission of inquiry to investigate “crimes” committed during the anti-government demonstrations since last April.
